Creating clean, safe spaces for everyone
A toilet block sounds simple. For a child who no longer skips school, it changes everything. AM Foundation has constructed sanitation blocks and clean water access points in government schools and communities across Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, in support of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan's mission to end open defecation. To date, over 40,000 students have gained access to safe, functional toilets through our school sanitation projects - including more than 50 toilet blocks built for schools in Chennai and 4 blocks for schools in Cuddalore — alongside clean drinking water facilities near our member plant communities.

under the Swachh Bharat Mission, extending sanitation access to 450 million people nationwide.
AM Foundation's school and community sanitation projects are part of that same movement - one block, one household at a time.
Beyond the classroom
We've also built 50 community toilets in inner-city Puducherry and 192 individual household latrines for families in Tiruvottiyur, Chennai - one toilet per household, built to promote a genuinely hygienic living environment. The impact shows up first in attendance: adolescent girls, who are disproportionately likely to skip school over inadequate facilities, stay enrolled when dignity and privacy are no longer in question.
