Bringing healthcare closer to home

Twelve centres. Two districts. One promise, that no family has to travel far for the care they need. AM Foundation operates 12 Primary Healthcare Centres (AM HCs) - 8 in Chennai and 4 in Thoothukudi - built in the communities surrounding our member companies plant sites. Each centre exists to do one thing well: put quality, affordable care within walking distance of people who would otherwise go without it. Since inception, our centres have supported over 85,000 out-patient visits for everyday illnesses, alongside immunisation drives run in coordination with local Urban Primary Health Centres, maternal and child health programmes, school health check-ups, and continuous education on hygiene and safe drinking water.

Our AM Laboratory diagnostic centres in Chennai and Thoothukudi extend essential lab testing to communities that would otherwise have to travel for it, and our Health & Education Camps bring preventive screening and awareness programmes directly into communities that need them most.

India's 2025 National Sample Survey found that private doctors and clinics still account for

0

%

of outpatient care in rural India, with average out-of-pocket hospitalisation costs running to ₹34,064 nationally (NSS 80th Round, 2025).

AM Foundation's centres exist to close exactly this gap - free, community-based primary care in the neighbourhoods where our member companies operate.

Investing in our teams

Care is only as strong as the people delivering it. AM Foundation invests continuously in its healthcare and outreach teams through skill enhancement workshops - covering communication, community engagement, documentation, and beneficiary tracking - and structured capacity-building programmes in technical training, workplace well-being, and professional development. It's a quieter kind of investment, but it's what keeps tens of thousands of consultations running smoothly, year after year.

Digital Health: Frappee Platform

Behind every consultation is the Frappee platform - a secure, purpose-built healthcare management system running across all our AMHCs. It gives every patient a unique ID, so a doctor can pull up a person's full history - past visits, diagnoses, prescriptions - the moment they walk in. Registration, vital signs, clinical notes, diagnosis and e-prescriptions all live on one centralised, real-time record, with role-based access for doctors, healthcare assistants and administrators. Built on encrypted, audit-logged infrastructure and integrated with hospital information systems, Frappee turns twelve separate centres into one connected, accountable network of care.
